Sorrowful Mysteries

First Sorrowful Mystery: The Agony in the Garden

Mary, spouse of the Holy Spirit, and our mother, help us daily to repeat your fiat, and the yes of Jesus, which He spoke to the Heavenly Father. Help us, in our daily lives to always spend time in prayer and then say yes to life.

Second Sorrowful Mystery: The Scourging at the Pillar
Mary, spouse of the Holy Spirit, and our mother, help us to be pure in all things, and to foster wherever possible, God’s plan of natural family planning.

Third Sorrowful Mystery: The Crowning with Thorns
Mary, spouse of the Holy Spirit, and our mother, help us to be humble, and to remove some of the thorns, of the sins of pride, from the crown of thorns.

Fourth Sorrowful Mystery: The Carrying of the Cross
Mary, spouse of the Holy Spirit, and our mother, help us to bear and carry our splinters of the cross with holy joy, to be another Simon the Cyrenian and another Veronica, to show mercy, compassion, and concern for others. Help us to see Jesus in all.

Fifth Sorrowful Mystery: The Crucifixion
Mary, spouse of the Holy Spirit, and our mother, help us to quench the thirst of Jesus, by giving Him our total love. May we be people who show mercy to others, so we may obtain mercy from our Heavenly Father.
