Traveling Monstrance Program
With Monstrance Blessed by Pope John Paul II

The Traveling Monstrance Program, created to foster adoration of the Blessed
Sacrament and Adoration for Vocations, was inaugurated on October 16, 2005, at
the Closing Celebration of the Year of the Eucharist, with Milwaukee Archbishop
Timothy M. Dolan at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.
The monstrance for the Program was blessed by Pope John Paul II on Easter, March
27, 2005. This was the very last monstrance blessed by the Holy Father for the
purpose of Adoration for Vocations, before he passed away.
Earlier in November 2004, Pope John Paul II had initiated a world-wide effort of
Adoration for Vocations, utilizing monstrances that he blessed for that purpose.
The Traveling Monstrance Program is now available for parishes, schools,
religious communities, and shrines throughout the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and
elsewhere upon request. The two-fold purpose of this program will be to foster
and promote Eucharistic adoration, and prayer before the Blessed Sacrament for
Vocations. The Monstrance is also available for special Liturgical Celebrations.
Ambassadors for Adoration of the Rosary Evangelization Apostolate serves
as the custodian and coordinator for the Program under the guidance of
Archbishop Timothy M. Dolan.
